justification is——-absent from the colloquy. he feels
that there is no reason to even begin an infinitesimal spiel on
his reasoning for he fails to even have one for the case. the
almost satisfied expression that was plastered to his face
upon soliloquizing the useless fact is now gone–such was
so swiftly replaced by one of hesitation. after a moment of
vacillation over the inquiry, he comes up with a response.
